Chad Woods

Director of Upper School

Chad joined the faculty as a math teacher in 2006 and was named director of Upper School in 2020. He holds a B.S. and M.Ed. from the University of West Georgia. His previous roles at Darlington have included dean of studies, master scheduler, math department chair, head baseball coach, head softball coach and head golf coach. Chad and his wife, Lindsay, assistant controller, have two children, Ava Ann (’26) and Barrett (’29).

The History Department at Darlington School seeks an experienced History teacher beginning with the 2025-2026 school year. A Darlington teacher fully supports the mission and values of the school and has the primary responsibility for creating the best student experience possible in support of the school’s learning framework, The Cycle of Learning. The candidate must demonstrate mastery of fundamental historiography skills including historical interpretation, analysis, argumentation, reading comprehension, and contextualization. The ideal candidate would be capable of teaching our Ancient Roots and Economics courses, though potentially including World History, American History, or other history electives.
