The boarding program at Darlington creates a close-knit community where girls feel safe and supported, both academically and emotionally. They build lasting friendships and develop strong relationships with faculty who are invested in their success. All boarding students live in one of six English-style boarding houses on campus. Unlike other schools, each is managed by a full-time head of house who serves only that role for students. Day or night, there is never a shortage of helping hands when you need help on a homework assignment or advice about a friend.
Independence & Responsibility
Living away from home provides girls with the opportunity to develop independence, time management skills, and a strong sense of responsibility. Students often say that this is the biggest takeaway from the boarding school experience and Darlington's schedule, both during the academic day and after school, fosters the development of these skills. With free periods, office hours, study hall, and off-campus excursions, our students learn to manage their time in a supportive environment.

The school has a history of 100% college acceptances to a variety of institutions. Most recently, the 108 members of the Class of 2025 were accepted to over 200 colleges in 38 states, Washington D.C., England, Scotland and The Netherlands, earning over $8.1 million in college scholarships.

Darlington's boarding program welcomes students from diverse backgrounds, creating a vibrant and inclusive community where girls learn to appreciate and respect different perspectives. Living in a dorm, or "house" as we call them, with 30 girls from around the world is an experience you simply cannot get at any other high school. Our boarding students learn as much through this experience as they do in the classroom about navigating life in our world.
