Garvin Edwards has served as academic support coordinator in the Teaching and Learning Center and as head wrestling coach since 2022. He holds a B.S. in Physical Education and Health K-12 from Berry College and has more than 30 years of experience teaching and coaching. Most recently, he has been teaching P.E. and coaching football at Opelika Middle School. He also spent 15 years teaching and coaching at Armuchee Middle School and Armuchee High School. Edwards has racked up numerous coaching accolades, including several Coach of the Year honors, and was inducted into the Georgia Chapter of the National Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame in 2021. In wrestling, he has coached 22 individual state champions and one state championship team. He also founded and operated a K-5 youth wrestling program.
