In this episode, senior boarding student Mary Covington talks with varsity coaches Garvin Edwards (wrestling), Andrea Frazier (swim/dive), Melissa Smyly (basketball cheerleading), Mark Tunnell (girls basketball) and Nathan West (boys basketball) about the winter athletic season at Darlington. You'll hear a little bit about each team and their highlights of the winter season, from the pre-season to team bonding to their accomplishments and more.
Garvin Edwards has served as academic support coordinator in the Teaching and Learning Center and as head wrestling coach since 2022.
Andrea Frazier has taught Spanish in grades pre-K to 5 since 2022 and is head coach of the varsity swim/dive teams.
Melissa Smyly has taught English at the Upper School since 2017 and serves as head fo the department. She also coaches varsity football, basketball and competition cheerleading.
Mark Tunnell has served as assistant director of admission at Darlington since 2012 and serves as assistant varsity girls' basketball coach.
Nathan West has served as head boys' basketball coach and assistant athletic director since 2019.
