Sam Clark

English Teacher, Upper School

Sam Clark has taught Upper School English, served as a college advisor, and served on the residential duty staff since 2017. He coaches volleyball in the fall and boys’ lacrosse in the spring, and serves as faculty adviser for the Model UN. Sam holds a B.A. in English from Rhodes College, and an M.A. from the Middlebury Bread Loaf School of English. He graduated as a day student from a boarding school, Western Reserve Academy, where he spent the following summers working as a counselor, teacher, and director in various camps.

College Advising Trip: Five Colleges Consortium

Upper School | Sam Clark, November 19, 2024

In October, I was able to travel to Western Massachusetts and visit each of the member colleges of the Five Colleges Consortium: Hampshire College, Amherst College, Smith College, Mount Holyoke College, and University of Massachusetts Amherst. Each of the colleges was unique and catered to different students but because of their close ties, every student is able to take advantage of classes and programs at all five campuses.

Samuel Clark will teach English at the Upper School and assist with crew and lacrosse. This will be Clark’s first teaching job, though he brings much experience with him from coaching various sports, counseling and directing at camps, assisting with drama programs and participating in many forms of journalism.
