Avery Cypress (’14) has served as assistant director of boarding admission since 2019. He holds a B.A. in International Studies and Spanish from Queens University of Charlotte in Charlotte, N.C., where he was a recipient of an academic and track and field scholarship. In college, Avery was a writing tutor in the Queens Center for Student Success and worked with the Advancement Office on their annual fundraising initiatives.

Cross Country Teams Open Season at Berry Invitational

The varsity boys' and girls' cross country teams began their season at the Berry Invitational, one of the largest and longest-running meets in the Southeast. The boys placed 3rd and the girls placed 6th, both as the top Class A school in a field full of Class AA, AAA, and AAAA schools.

Boys' track and field team wins 5th consecutive Area Championship in dominant fashion

The boys' track and field team won the two-day Area Championship, held at Whitefield Academy and Mount Pisgah. Darlington scored 186.5 points, well ahead of Runner-Up Mount Pisgah's 123.
