Let’s get to know Ashlyn Garrett, an eight-year day student from Rome who is captain of both the game day competition and sideline cheerleading teams.

Friendship, Community, Supportive

What's your favorite show to binge watch?
"Gossip Girl"
What's your favorite restaurant in Rome?
Antigua
What house are you a member of?
Regester
What are you involved in?
I was captain of both sideline cheerleading and game-day cheerleading and a member of traditional competition cheerleading my sophomore year and junior year. I'm also in both Advancement Ambassadors and Arts Council.
If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Mrs. Guest because she always pushed our team to do our best and was so supportive.
If you are involved in fine arts, what is your favorite activity and why?
My favorite activity is art because it has helped my creativity grow and it's always relaxing to have a break from school work during the day.
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
My favorite place on campus is the Student Center because it's where all the students go to socialize and hangout with each other.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mr. Kinney and Mr. Shorey. They always make their classes so much fun and always push their students to do their best.
What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
My favorite thing about Darlington is the community and the freedom we have as students.
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
RUMPUS! I loved being able to connect with new people and compete against the other houses in all the events.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
Since I first came to Darlington, I feel like I have came out of my shell a little bit. I have always been a shy person, but I have met so many people at Darlington who have really helped me become more outgoing.
What is your dream job?
My dream job is to be a NICU Nurse.
