A Darlington student is made up of many things. None of which is average. We help our students develop their interests, passions and pursuits, because we believe every individual has something to contribute. We also believe that only when you're 100% you, are you 100% Darlington.

Here at Darlington, every student’s path is different. We think that's a good thing.

Let’s get to know Rayan Maqbool, a two-year boarding student from Karachi, Pakistan, who is a member of the swim team.

Coach Shiera is my favourite coach. She focuses on each person’s technique individually and makes sure we are improving our times. She always tries to create a positive atmosphere among the swim team.

What's your favorite place on campus and why?
The swimming pool because I trained with some of my closest friends there.

Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Ms. Haynes is my favorite teacher. She managed to make AP Environmental Science very interesting and tied the concepts taught in class to real-life examples. I now want to do something related to environmental management in college and afterwards. Ms. Shores was also my favorite teacher because she made learning AP U.S. History enjoyable and her class was always one I looked forward to.

What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?

Meeting and becoming friends with people from all around the world. Some of my best friends are American, Persian and Vietnamese.

What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I’ve learned to manage my time better and study independently.

What is your dream job?
