Our Upper School Band members had the opportunity to play alongside collegiate band musicians from the University of the Cumberlands Wind Ensemble. This visiting band invited our Upper School Band students to sit in with them during a rehearsal in the Morris Chapel. Then the UC Wind Ensemble treated our ninth and tenth grades to a concert during advisory time. The Upper School Band members learned from the high level of musicianship that our guests brought, and the performance demonstrated tremendous, collegiate talent.
The University of the Cumberlands is located in Williamsburg, Ky. Their band program is led by Dr. Duane Warfield, who once directed all of the bands at Shorter University. We are thankful to this talented group for stopping at Darlington on their tour through Georgia and Tennessee!
