The first-graders hosted a Freedom Tea for family friends. This project was a culmination of a month-long study of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Students learned about MLK, his life and his impact on the Civil Rights movement. Most importantly, they reflected on how to incorporate respect, integrity, honor and love into their own lives as first-graders. The students presented a timeline of his life, wrote their own "I Have a Dream" speeches, and presented another student with a Nobel Peace prize for character.
