We had four students selected from our middle grades Jazz Band to participate in the Georgia Music Educator's Association District 7 Honors Middle School Jazz Band. Congratulations to eighth-graders Banks Brown (trumpet), Will Bowerman (trumpet), Cooper Laliberte (alto saxophone) and seventh-grader Sameer Elkhatib (alto saxophone), who were chosen for this special honor! These students traveled to Heritage High School Monday afternoon where they began rehearsing in a jazz band composed of several other talented middle school musicians from around the district. They rehearsed late into the night on Monday and all day on Tuesday. The Honors Jazz Band then presented a concert at the end of Tuesday. Our students represented Darlington very well, and their final performance was impressive. Congratulations Jazz Band members!
