Third grade hosted the annual Friendship Feast. Each student invited one guest to join him/her for a special presentation and lunch. The students worked with several moms to set up and decorate for the event, as well as prepare the food.
The Friendship Feast is an annual culminating event for third-graders after completing a cross-curricular unit of study about the first Thanksgiving. Students have read the biography, "Squanto: Friend of the Pilgrims," made placemats in art, written friendly letters in language arts class, and filmed a slideshow with Mrs. Wardlaw. A poem titled "Thanksgiving at Plymouth" was recited by the students during the opening presentation.
