The Creative Technologies/Design Thinking class completed The Five Chair Challenge, which involved working in teams to design a chair for a specific user. These users were five characters from the popular Simpsons cartoon: Grandpa, Ralph, Maggie, Lisa, and Neil the astronaut.
We had to determine the needs of our user and then design five different chairs using different materials: drawing with paper and pencil, cardboard, pipe cleaners, Play-Doh, and toothpicks. The goal was for us to gain confidence iterating designs based on human needs, while working with different materials.
