After two days of play at the home complex, the Darlington School Tiger tennis teams kept the Region 6A Division I first-place trophies home.

Both the boys and girls finals went up against the Model Blue Devils Thursday morning, and Darlington was too much winning all 10 matches with only one going to a third set in the 2-out-of-3 format.

In the boys championship, John Courtnay won No. 1 singles 6-2, 6-0; Murray Ellington won No. 2 singles 6-1, 6-2; and Randy Kim won No. 3 singles in a 6-0, 6-0 shutout.

The two doubles matches were also claimed by the Tigers. No. 1 Felipe Selle and Lukas Hempel, two members of the Darlington boys soccer team, won 6-1, 6-2. No. 2 Grady Ferguson and Davis Carney had the tightest final but prevailed 7-5, 6-3.

On the girls side, singles winners for Darlington were Caroline Knight at No. 1 6-0, 6-4; Callie Carlton at No. 2 6-2, 6-0; and Cathy Xiao at No. 3 6-1, 6-1.

The only set loss for the Tigers Thursday was at No. 2 girls doubles. Greta Garrett and Anabella Rozier of Model won their first set 6-3. Tessa Chapman and Sophie Pillar of Darlington recovered to win the next two 6-1, 6-0.

The No. 1 doubles team of Annie Beauchamp and Olivia Lunsford won 6-1, 6-1 for Darlington.
