Let’s get to know Kensie Waller, an eight-year day student from Rome who has excelled in Darlington’s theater program and plans to pursue the arts in college.

Talent, community, laughter

What are you involved in?
Theater, Concert Choir, track, Darlingtones, Arts Council, Spanish Club president, GSA vice president, Student Activities Committee, Asian Student Union
If you are involved in fine arts, what is your favorite activity and why?
My favorite activity is the fall play because the community is small and very close, and it’s engaging and challenging to get deep into your character’s thoughts.
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
My favorite place on campus is the theater because that’s where my theater family lives.
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
My favorite teacher is Mrs. O’Mara because she has a crazy sense of humor and has been a great mentor to me.
What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
The arts community
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
My junior year, the winter musical was “Newsies.” We combined the lower grades, upper school, and faculty and made a family of many different ages and types of people. It was a powerful community that ultimately made me want to pursue performing as my career.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I sing now!
What is your dream job?
Touring actress
