Senior Harrison Inman has been named Noon Optimist Student of the Month for January.

A day student who has been enrolled at Darlington since fourth grade, Inman has taken 14 Honors and AP classes. He is a day leader in Neville House and a member of the Discipline Committee, Student Arts Council, Student Activities Committee, "Y" Cabinet, The Darlington Players and the Concert Choir. He also plays football and is a member of the track and field team.

As a member of the Senior Ventures program, his project focuses on combining the athletic and fine arts communities, showing students that it is possible to participate in both arts and athletics, just as he has done.

"Over the past four years, Harrison has emerged as a thoughtful leader, a resilient athlete, and a confident contributor to nearly every facet of campus life," said his adviser, Ivy Brewer, dean of college guidance. "Harrison is a rare blend of humility, responsibility and genuine enthusiasm. His contributions to athletics, the arts, service, and student governance stem not from a desire for accolades, but from a deep commitment to making Darlington a better place for everyone."

The son of Tara and Brian Inman of Rome, Harrison will be honored at an Optimist Club luncheon on Nov. Jan. 20.
