Day #SeniorSpotlight: Angeline Myrie

Maddie Chastain | March 29, 2025 | 120 views

A Darlington student is made up of many things. None of which is average. We help our students develop their interests, passions and pursuits, because we believe every individual has something to contribute. We also believe that only when you're 100% you, are you 100% Darlington.

Here at Darlington, every student’s path is different. We think that's a good thing.

Let’s get to know Angeline Myrie, a 14-year day student from Cartersville, Ga., whose Senior Ventures project is a law-centered podcast called "Beyond the Brief" that's both educational and entertaining.

When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?
Community, tradition, passion

I’m super lucky to be super involved in everything Darlington has to offer. I do theater and am president of the Discipline Committee, Tiger Tutors, Black Student Union and co-president of Model UN. I’m also an Advancement Ambassador and used to play tennis and run track and field!

If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
I don’t play tennis anymore but Mr. Tunnell was always so encouraging and positive.

If you are involved in fine arts, what is your favorite activity and why?
Theater! It's an amazing community of people and we have lots of fun.

What's your favorite place on campus and why?
I love my duty nights in Cooper so probably Cooper House.

Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mrs. Baldwin because she was one of the best teachers I ever had and was super influential to me in middle school and Ms. Shores because she’s an amazing person and teacher whose passion for what she does radiates to her students.

What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
The amazing people! Students and teachers alike.

Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
RUMPUS! Truly is a one-of-a-kind experience that you just can’t put into words.

What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I’ve definitely grown more independent and since I have been going to Dar for so long. I’ve gotten the ability to grow up and find myself here at Darlington.

A corporate lawyer
