Jabberwokk yearbook named best in state, Inkslinger earns Superior rating

November 15, 2024 | 71 views

At the virtual fall 2024 awards ceremony for the Georgia Scholastic Press Association (GSPA), Darlington's Jabberwokk yearbook earned the All-Georgia distinction, distinguishing the yearbook as the best in the state.

The equivalent of a state championship, the Jabberwokk staff's victory comes on the heels of a 2023 statewide win in the same competition. The staff has received back-to-back perfect scores in the critiquing process.

The Inkslinger literary magazine was also recognized, earning a Superior rating, improving on its 2023 Excellent designation and winning a near-perfect score in the critiquing process.

"The Jabberwokk and Inkslinger staff members worked very hard last year, and their dedication and determination are paying off," Student Publications adviser Ethan Pender ('16) said. "Student Publications is one of the most challenging extracurriculars a student can join, and I am so proud of the staff members' work ethic and commitment to telling the stories of their peers. This honor reinforces what we already know: Darlington School cultivates some of the best student artists in the state."

The following students from the Jabberwokk staff were honored by individual awards in the following categories (works marked as "All-Georgia" denote that student's work was named best in the state of Georgia for that category):
