Welcome to Episode 164 of The Darlington Podcast! 

In this special episode, listen to Heather Shores, Upper School history teacher, give her Baccalaureate address on May 17. Shores was selected by the senior class to serve as the Baccalaureate speaker. In her address, she gives the Class of 2024 six pieces of wisdom that she wishes she knew as a high school graduate. 

Heather Shores has taught Upper School history since 2022. She holds a B.A. in History and an M.A. in History from the University of West Georgia. Shores has 20 years of experience in the field of public history, 16 of those in teaching college-level courses. Most recently, she served as executive director of Chieftain's Museum in Rome, program specialist and bookkeeper for Georgia Career & Technical Instruction, and part-time history faculty member at Georgia Highlands College. At Darlington, she was recognized with the Beachum Master Teacher Award for her work.
