Let’s get to know Talan Shirey, a five-year day student from Armuchee, Ga., who plays football and baseball.

What's your favorite show to binge watch?
“Outer Banks”
What's your favorite restaurant in Rome?
Buffalo Wild Wings
What house are you a member of?

What are you involved in at Darlington?
Football (captain), baseball
If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
Coach Larry - because he wants the best for us on the field but he wants even better off the field. He is a genuine coach and tells you straight up about anything, and he influenced me to come to Darlington because I played travel ball with him for a while. I’ve loved my time here and playing baseball for him is super fun.
What's your favorite place on campus and why?
The Student Center because I can get work done and be around my boys!
Who's your favorite teacher and why?
Mr. Bruce - I have ADHD and focusing disabilities, and he helps me in different ways than he helps regular students. It has helped a lot and he is a teacher I can talk to about anything.
What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
RUMPUS because you can be around people you’re not usually around, build a bond with them, and just work as a team. It’s just super fun being around everyone.
Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
RUMPUS.
What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
I would say I've grown to be a better man and make better choices along the way in my journey in high school, along with being friends with everyone and not judging anyone.
What is your dream job?
Head baseball coach
