Boarding #SeniorSpotlight: Noelle Adams

Maddie Chastain | March 16, 2024 | 156 views

A Darlington student is made up of many things. None of which is average. We help our students develop their interests, passions and pursuits, because we believe every individual has something to contribute. We also believe that only when you're 100% you, are you 100% Darlington.

Here at Darlington, every student’s path is different. We think that's a good thing.

Let’s get to know Noelle Adams, a three-year boarding student from Freeport, Bahamas, whose Senior Ventures project focuses on Black Community Awareness. In February, she created displays in the Upper School Library and Student Center for Black History Month.

When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?
When I think of Darlington, the first three words that come to mind are being INDEPENDENT, having an ENCOURAGING staff and faculty, and SUPPORTIVE friends being there for me.

What song reminds you of high school?
A song that reminds me of high school, specifically Darlington, is “Love Drought.” Whenever I had a morning class, I would listen to it as I walked to class and it would always put me in a great mood for the day.

What's your favorite show to binge watch?
I don't have any favorite shows that I binge because I enjoy movies more. My favorite movies are “Caroline,” “Shrek,” and “The Incredibles.” I could watch these movies on repeat.

What's your favorite restaurant in Rome?
My favorite restaurant in Rome is Las Palmas. Whenever me and my friends went to Las Palmas, they were always so nice and friendly and the food was top tier.

What house are you a member of?
I am a member of the best house, Reg House.

What are you involved in at Darlington?
The clubs that I am involved in are BSU, Sewing Seeds 4 U,Hugs and Threads, “Y” Cabinet. I am also in Senior Ventures.

If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
I don't play any sports but my favorite coach is Coach West because he is just a great motivation on campus and he always encourages the students to attend the games and show up for our Darlington Athletics.

If you are involved in fine arts, what is your favorite activity and why?
I was never involved in fine arts, but every year I volunteered to help out at the musicals and every year I went I enjoyed it.

What's your favorite place on campus and why?
My favorite thing about Darlington School is the lake. Whenever I have a stressful test or even if I’m overwhelmed, I walk around the lake and feel at ease.

Who's your favorite teacher and why?
My favorite teacher was Mr Cox. He is one of the coolest teachers I know and always has an interesting story to tell.

What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
My favorite thing about Darlington is Senior Retreat. I loved Senior Retreat because there were some people I never thought I would talk to in my graduating class, but gave me an opportunity to get to know them better.

Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
The best experience I had at Darlington was when we came back every August to campus and I got to meet new people from different countries and experience the diversity on campus.

What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
When I first came to Darlington, I was very shy and didn't really like to talk to people until I started going to clubs and participating more. When I did this, I overcame this obstacle and started branching out and met more people.

What is your dream job?
My dream job is to become an Anesthesiologist.
