My name is Noelle Adams and I am a boarding student at Darlington and a member of the Senior Ventures program. My project is named Black Community Awareness because my goal is to inform people about the African American community and black owned businesses in Rome. I want to create a social media presence that informs people about my project, our community service, and also write about Black History. My mentors are Tashia Twyman, Robert K. Adams and Heather Shores.
Currently, I am working with and supporting Ciara Mcknight's non-profit organization, A Teen's Choice. The purpose of A Teen's Choice is to provide young women the support they need in order to shape them into leaders of the future. They offer a number of services and leadership initiatives that help nurture our youth and help them develop the skills they will carry throughout their lives. This organization provides a wide range of after-school programs, such as tutoring, mental and wellness groups, life skill groups, and many others. I have organized an Upper School advisory competition to collect snacks, games, and sporting equipment to support A Teen's Choice and the work they do for young African American women in Rome. I am also assisting them with their programming after school and will help provide a holiday party in December.

Senior Ventures is a year-long academic program built on a framework of leadership, innovation and community engagement. Through a proven self-guided exploratory process, seniors whose proposals are selected for this program work independently to develop a project that’s interdisciplinary in scope and is connective, performance-based, investigative, or entrepreneurial.
