"This one-act 'stay at home' comedy presented by our talented 6 to 8 Art Block Drama Class is something they can all be proud of,” said Shelley Daniel, theater director. “These 14 students have worked all fall navigating the 'page to stage' process while also exploring digital performance as they rehearsed in class and filmed their scenes at home. We started by holding auditions, mastering the memorization process, moving into character development, and then the daily rehearsal process. Students partipcated in work on costuming, staging, lighting and how to take director notes. Actors explored best practices as they set up cameras, polished how to make eye contact with their audience and bravely tackled the "clowning" process. After several rounds of each actor going home and filming, me giving them director notes, and them resubmitting new footage, we established great virtual communication and had a ton of fun together."
