Darlington School’s Tennis Academy program will now be facilitated through a partnership with the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College, announced both entities today.

“We feel that the Rome Tennis Center’s mission to bring high-level tennis to Rome fits very well with our vision for the school’s Tennis Academy program,” said Brent Bell, Darlington’s head of school. “We are excited that our student-athletes will have more opportunities to compete with other high-level, diverse players both during the events we host here in Rome and regional travel.”

Darlington students who enroll in the Tennis Academy will participate in the Rome Tennis Center’s JETA High Performance training program, which includes the following:

- On-court training

- One 30-minute private lesson per week, at minimum

- Fitness training

- Mental training

- Match play training

- Travel team competition

- Academy competition

- Regular SSV (Serve, Stroke & Volley) evaluations

- Match charting (tennis analytics)

- Rally Ball Club membership

“The Professional Tennis Staff at Rome Tennis Center at Berry College is very pleased to partner with Darlington and offer a complete menu of junior tennis development programming,” said Tom Daglis, executive director of RTCBC. “We feel that the tennis expertise we bring to the table complements the high standards that define Darlington School, and we are excited to be an integral part of their sports academy programs.”

Tennis Academy participants will be trained by the pros at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College and will have access to both the new, state-of-the-art Tennis Center – the largest hard court facility in the nation – as well as Rome’s downtown facility.

“We look forward to working with the great people at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College,” Bell said. “I am confident that this partnership will help us attract families who value the sport of tennis and who are looking for a robust school program like Darlington’s that truly enhances the quality of the student experience.”
