The Northwest Georgia Tip-Off Club recognized seven members of the Darlington Community and one athletics team last week at its 29th annual basketball banquet at Berry College.

The banquet celebrated area athletes and coaches in recognition of their performance on the courts during the 2014-15 basketball season.

Sophomore Anna Claire Atha and senior Seth Little were named Darlington's Players of the Year.

Atha was acknowledged for her accomplishments earlier this year with the Athletic Booster Club Scholar-Athlete Award and Captain's Award. In January, she set a Lady Tigers school record in basketball, scoring 43 points in a showdown against Hardway, with Darlington winning 84-48.

Little was recognized at last month's Winter Sports Assembly as the Offensive Player of the Year in basketball.

Darlington seniors Sawyer Hicks and Rachel Simon were named Players of the Month for December for Darlington.

Senior Burton Dulaney and junior Keara Evans were recognized as January's Players of the Month.

"Our amazing student athletes not only stand out as leaders in our school, but also in the greater community as well," said Bob Stinchcomb, Darlington's athletic director. "We could not be more proud to call these winners our fellow Tigers."

Kevin Ivester ('87) was named the club's Middle School Coach of the Year for Northwest Georgia. During his time as coach of both the boys and [formerly] the girls Middle School basketball teams, he has led the players to a combined six League Championships. He was previously recognized with the same accolade in 2012.

"Receiving this award is solely due to the players on my team and their talents on the court," said Ivester. "I am lucky to be able to coach a fantastic group of guys who are passionate about the sport, unselfish as teammates, and respectful both on and off the court."

In addition, Darlington's Middle School boys basketball team was recognized as the Middle School Team of the Year for Northwest Georgia. As such, the group is the only undefeated boys team in the region.
