Darlington seniors Travis Hayworth and Sloan Peters have been selected to represent the North Georgia All-Stars in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome this Saturday. The team will play Central Georgia, which beat North Georgia 10-0 last year.

"It's a great honor for Travis and Sloan to be selected to represent Darlington and North Georgia in this game," said Darlington head coach Tommy Atha. "I am extremely proud of each of them and all they have accomplished as Tigers. We will miss them on the field next year."

North Murray head coach David Gann will lead the North Georgia squad, which will be made up of players from Catoosa, Walker, Dade, Whitfield, Gordon, Chattooga, Murray, Fannin, Gilmer, Pickens, Cherokee, Bartow, Floyd and Dawson counties. The Central team will be compromised of players from Carroll, Douglas, Coweta and Troup counties.

North Georgia defensive coordinator Cortney Braswell said that he was impressed with the athleticism of the team after seeing them in action during a Sunday practice. “In the past few years I have coached in a lot of all-star games and this is by far the best looking group of athletes I’ve seen,” he said.

Among the other North All-Stars scheduled to play are Slade Dale, Christian Plott, Dakota Baer, Ryan Emmer, and Dallas McGhee, who recently helped Ringgold reach the Class AAA semifinals, and Tristan Evans and Jacob Gilbert of LFO.

The Dome will see a full day and night of football games on Saturday, starting with youth games from 8 a.m. to noon. Following the North-Central Senior Game, the Atlanta Stars will face the Augusta Stars in a Junior All-Star game at 4 p.m. Another youth game will take the field at 6:30, and the evening will conclude with the East Metro Atlanta Senior All-Stars squaring off with the West Metro All-Stars at 7:45. Tickets are $22.50 each and are good for all nine games.
