After strong performances at last week’s Region 6-A tournaments, the Lady Tigers and Tigers each hosted first-round Class A state tournament matches on Tuesday, and both squads produced hold-your-breath victories to advance to the second round. The girls downed Pace Academy, 3-2, and the boys were 3-1 winners over Holy Innocents.
The Darlington boys will play Whitefield Academy in the second round, although the date and site have not yet been set. The Lady Tigers' next opponent has not yet been determined.
