Rome News-Tribune article about Darlington's new Middle School and other buildings in the area currently seeking LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. During the construction of Darlington's Middle School facility, 90 percent of all construction waste was recycled, limiting the amount of waste going to landfills.
