French Club tastes a bit of culture

October 30, 2003 | 186 views
The French Club went to Le Soleil, a French restaurant in Atlanta, in October as a way to expose students to French culture. Nathalie Welch, foreign language instructor, and her husband David Welch'82 chaperoned the trip. Students attending were Anja Knabe-Paulsen, Mika Wells, Nora Zaremba, Johanna Griesshammer, Matt Gill, Tyler Wilkinson, and John Umberger. Meggin Roberts invited a friend, Stephanie from Pepperrell High School, Lindale, Ga., to attend. They sampled French delicatessen, such as escargots, house salad with shrimps and goat cheese, duck filet, pork loin with old style mustard sauce, lamb osso-bucco, pasta dishes, and deserts.

“This is definitely part of the exposure to culture. Every year, my classes and/or the French Club organize several cultural trips, activities, etc.,” Nathalie Welch explained. “The next big project is, off course, National French Week in November.”
