A variety of group lessons are available based on your child's age:
STARFISH
Rising Pre-K and Kindergarten
July 7-30
Mon/Wed, 9-9:45 a.m.
$132 for 8 group lessons
Calling all Starfish! Coach Frazier will introduce rising pre-K and kindergarten students to swimming by teaching discipline and independence in the water. The group will be limited to 6 children. A lifeguard will be on duty as Coach Frazier works with these young starfish in the water!
SEAHORSE
Rising 1st- and 2nd-graders
July 7-30
Mon/Wed, 10-10:45 a.m.
$96 for 8 group lessons
Calling all Seahorses! Rising 1st- and 2nd-graders are invited to increase their confidence in the water and develop their swim skills. The young seahorses will practice kicking and arm movement techniques related to the crawl, or freestyle, alongside Coach Frazier in the water. The group will be limited to 12 children. A lifeguard will be on duty as Coach Frazier works with these seahorses in the water!
JELLYFISH
Rising 3rd- through 5th-graders
July 8-31
Tues/Thurs, 9-9:45 a.m.
$96 for 8 group lessons
Calling all Jellyfish! Rising 3rd- through 5th-graders are invited to increase their confidence and abilities in the water. In addition to fundamental swimming techniques, Coach Frazier will help the jellyfish develop their backstroke and breaststroke. The group will be limited to 12 children. A lifeguard will be on duty.
DOLPHIN
Rising 6th- through 8th-graders
July 8-31
Tues/Thurs, 10-10:45 a.m.
$96 for 8 group lessons
Calling all Dolphins! Rising 6th- through 8th-graders are invited to advance their skills in the water with Coach Frazier. Lessons will focus on advanced butterfly stroke techniques with additional training to increase resistance and muscle strengthening. The group will be limited to 12 children. A lifeguard will be on duty.
PRIVATE LESSONS – Coach Frazier also offers private lessons for kids 1-18 years of age. If interested, contact Coach Frazier directly at afrazier@darlingtonschool.org or 786-334-1898 to discuss cost and schedule.
NOTE: Lessons will take place at the Darlington pool located on the second floor of the Huffman Athletic Center. Parents are required to accompany their child to and from the pool. Participants should bring a cap and goggles in addition to their swimsuit.
About the director
Andrea Frazier teaches Spanish in the Upper School and coaches varsity swim and dive. She holds a M.S. in Psychology from Universidad Rafael Urdaneta - Zulia and taught Spanish for the last three years in grades pre-K to 5. Most recently, she taught pre-K students at The Quadrilingual Academy in Smyrna, Ga., and elementary-aged students at Tabula Rasa - The Language Academy in Sandy Springs, Ga. Frazier also owned and operated a home-based swim academy for five years.
