Day Students: Parents of day students must notify the Student Life Office by 8 a.m. on each day of the student’s absence, explaining the reason for the absence. The Student Life Office can be reached at 706-236-0435 or by emailing Terar Everhart.
Should a Day Student become ill during the school day their first stop should be with our Health Center where they can be given medical assistance and will contact parents should the student need to go home.
Without proper notification from the local parent or school nurse, a student’s absence will be considered unexcused (see Unexcused Absences Policy).
Boarding Students: Boarding students who believe they need to be excused from school for health reasons must check in with the nurse in the Health Center prior to 8 a.m. Without proper notification from the school nurse, a student’s absence will be considered unexcused (see Unexcused Absences Policy).
All Students: Must accept the responsibility for making up work missed during any excused absence. Unless otherwise specified, a student will normally be allowed the same number of school days to complete the work missed as the number of days absent.
Should absences accumulate, the student may be required to bring doctor's documentation to the Student Life Office. Students who miss semester exams must bring a doctor's note to the Student Life Office.
