To approve a non-medical, planned absence, students must complete a Planned Absence Form a week in advance of the date the absence is to occur. To obtain a planned absence form parents must contact Terar Everhart in writing, indicating the reason for the absence, the time and date of departure and the expected day, and time of the student's return to school. Students should pick up the Planned Absence form from the Student Life Office and after acquiring the proper teacher signatures, the Director of Upper School will determine if such absences will be excused.
In cases of approved extended absence, a student’s parents should consult the specific teachers and department heads to arrange the best method for the student to make up the work missed.
