Hans Doerr

Previous Background
Hans has taught history at the Upper School and served as assistant crew coach since 2015. He holds a B.A. in History from the University of Virginia, where he was a four-year member of the rowing team. Prior to his work at Darlington, Hans taught history at Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J., where he also coached varsity boys’ crew. Previously, he served as head girls’ rowing coach at the Detroit Boat Club and the Everett Rowing Association. He is married to Tiffany, a personal counselor at the Upper School.

Tiffany Doerr will be joining the Darlington Community as a personal counselor. She has 13 years of experience in counseling, working primarily with high school students. Most recently, she was director of counseling at Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J.

Doerr named history teacher and rowing coach

Hans Doerr will be joining the Darlington Community as U.S. History and Global Issues teacher, and will also serve as assistant crew coach. He comes to the school having recently taught history for five years at Blair Academy in Blairstown, N.J., where he coached varsity boys’ crew.
