Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree required 
• 3-5 years experience teaching choral music is preferred
• Broad knowledge of and experience with current best practices in choral music curriculum, instruction, and performance
• Genuine love of middle and upper school age children and a desire to work with all types of learners
• Committed to building and maintaining a choral program and their own professional development
• Positive and contributing member of the professional community
• Extraordinary communication and presentation skills
• Proficient in use of technology and knowledge of Google classroom 
• A desire to work in a highly collaborative environment

Responsibilities

• Teach Concert Choir, an auditioned mixed choir
• Teach Chorale, a non-auditioned choir
• Lead and advise two a capella groups extending from Concert Choir 
• Teach Middle School Chorus
• Teach Keyboard Musicianship 
• Teach AP Music Theory
• Serve as advisor for a group of 10-12 upper school students
• Manage choral program budget
• Plan and schedule seasonal concert programs for all groups throughout the school year 
• Plan appropriate trips to promote the school and choral programming
• Participate in GMEA All-State and Large Group Performance Evaluations as appropriate for individual students and ensembles and in coordination with the school calendar
• Maintain choral libraries for both middle and upper schools
• Maintain choral concert attire
• Vocal Director for Winter Musical in collaboration with Theatre Director
• To be an active resource for choral opportunities at the ELA-8
