Responsibilities:

  • Prepare hands-on lessons and appropriate activities based on scope and sequence set forth in pre-planning; implements hybrid learning model
  • Proficient in organizing a classroom environment
  • Experienced in developing lessons and units of study in literacy and science
  • Uses different teaching strategies and creates learning opportunities that address different learning styles
  • Demonstrates the skill of using the SmartBoard and implementing technology into the curriculum with a 1:1 iPad program
  • Covers content and skills; aligns scope and sequence 
  • Attends faculty meetings, planning meetings, parent conferences, etc.
  • Supervises students
  • Assists with the morning and afternoon carline duty 
  • Nurturing the whole child and partnering with the parent community

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to model the distinct mission of Darlington School
  • Undergraduate degree in teaching and/or acceptable transcript that demonstrates competency in the field
  • Prior teaching experience in the lower grades
  • A deep understanding and love for students
  • Ability and willingness to work as a team player
