Senior Maddox Andrews has been named Noon Optimist Student of the Month for November.
A day student who has been enrolled at Darlington since pre-K, Andrews has taken 16 Honors and AP classes and is a day leader in Moser House. He is president of the Honor Council and is a member of Mu Alpha Theta and Darlington School Soccer Academy.
"Maddox Andrews is one of the best leaders and mature young men that we have had in the Soccer Academy in our 20-year history here at Darlington," said Chad Liddle, director of the Soccer Academy. "He is always one of the first players at practice and leads by example both on and off the field. Maddox shows leadership throughout our Darlington Community as president of Honor Council, a day leader in our residential life, and was the finalist in the 2024 class presidential election. His work ethic both academically and athletically will make him a tremendous student-athlete at the college level next year. His trajectory in life is limitless thanks to his taking full advantage of all the life skills and developmental moments here in our Darlington Community."
Outside of school, Andrews has a job working in property maintenance and has served as a counselor at summer soccer campus such as the Exact Academic 50 ID Camp, Nike Soccer Camps, and No.1 Soccer Camps. He also enjoys serving his community and has participated in activities such as volunteering local animal shelter, reading to children at local primary schools, and donating food and other items to local homeless shelters.
The son of Rana Andrews of Rome, Maddox will be honored at an Optimist Club luncheon on Nov. 14.
