Mrs. King's Anatomy and Physiology class used a variety of techniques to study the mechanism of hearing and the chemical senses associated with taste. Tuning forks were used to test students' hearing and to mimic the sensation of conductive or sensorineural hearing loss. Students used sugar and jelly beans to analyze how vision and smell can influence one's sense of taste and the importance of saliva for the perception of flavor.
