A Darlington student is made up of many things. None of which is average. We help our students develop their interests, passions and pursuits, because we believe every individual has something to contribute. We also believe that only when you're 100% you, are you 100% Darlington.

Here at Darlington, every student’s path is different. We think that's a good thing.

Let’s get to know Mary Kebede, a two-year boarding student from Ethiopia whose Senior Ventures project involves working with local shelters and cancer organizations.

When you think of Darlington, what three words come to mind first?

Beautiful, peaceful, fun

“Heaven Couldn’t Wait for You” - Noelle Adams version

What's your favorite show to binge watch?
“The Lincoln Lawyer”

If you play sports, who is your favorite coach and why?
I didn't play sports, but Mr. Shorey was my coach for a while. He was always supportive and motivated me to do my best every time both in school and on the fields and has my biggest motivator

If you are involved in fine arts, what is your favorite activity and why?
Ms. Daniels has challenged me to do new things I would never have tried and to experience things outside of my comfort zone, which I am always grateful for.

What's your favorite place on campus and why?
I have many funny memories with my friends on the Thornwood patio.

Who's your favorite teacher and why?
I have so many (Mrs. Inman, Mr. Inman, Mrs. King, Mr. Willerson, Ms. Brewer, Mrs. Garth-Fielder, Mr. Allen, Mrs. Kinney, Mr. Enderle, Mrs. Wardlaw, Mrs. Johnson). There are more teachers, but they are all caring, and I couldn't have done it these last two years without them.

What’s your favorite thing about Darlington?
The community

Describe an experience that you've had at Darlington that you couldn't have had anywhere else.
RUMPUS

What are some of the ways you've grown since you first came to Darlington?
It prepared me for life and for always wanting to give my all in all I do rather than settling for the bare minimum.

What is your dream job?
I hope to become a doctor and study oncology (cancer) and therapeutic research one day.
