Horah hired to teach first grade

Stephanie Horah has joined the Darlington Community to teach first grade. She holds a B.S. in Communications from Kennesaw State University, an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from Berry College, and a T-5 Georgia Educator Certificate.

“My journey as an educator began as a parent, where I thrived with the one-on-one teaching experience in the home, so much so that after my children were enrolled in preschool, I decided that I wanted to be involved in a professional capacity,” Horah said. “In 2012 I was hired at Cloverleaf Elementary School where I taught first and third grades and in 2015 I decided to make a change and switched settings from public schools to independent schools."

Horah initially came to Darlington as a long-term substitute teacher. In all, she has more than 14 years of experience serving children in both public and private school settings.

“Darlington provides a warm and caring environment in which to nurture young minds. I appreciate the support that they provide their teachers making it easier for us to put our best foot forward,” Horah continued. “I believe very strongly that you must love the child first, nurture their spirit, and then instill the joy of learning. A child who loves to learn can open the door to their future to be anything their heart desires. I enjoy being a part of that inspiration.”

In her free time, Horah enjoys going to the movies, spending time with her family and reading a good book. She is the mother of Dawson ('16) and Natalie ('19).
