Chapel Talk: Reflections with Tara Inman

At 9 a.m. on most Thursday mornings, Upper School students at Darlington typically gather together to reflect during their weekly chapel service. We felt that it was important to still hold a space each week for reflection and connection with one another, so each week we will continue to bring you a chapel message.

This week's chapel talk comes to you from Tara Inman, dean of students for global education.

These days are hard and strange and lonely in a very unique way that we have not experienced before. The only unifying and comforting thing is that we are experiencing this together as a world in a way that is also unlike anything we’ve ever experienced. I think in the end, there must be something powerfully good to come of that for all of us, but especially for DarWorld, which may now be spread all around the world but which will with certainty come back to sit together in this beautiful Morris Chapel by Silver Lake with our 3 swans and listen (or not listen) to assembly and chapel speakers every Monday and Thursday morning once again. I believe in my heart that when that happens, we will cherish the chance to simply be together in the same space in a way that we never have before. If we get nothing else from this pandemic but that, I believe it will be enough.
