In this episode, senior day student Ryland Scott talks with varsity coaches Garvin Edwards (wrestling), Leigh Hadaway (swim and dive), Mark Tunnell (girls' basketball) and Nathan West (boys' basketball) about the winter athletic season at Darlington. You'll hear a little bit about each team and their highlights of the winter season, from the preseason to team bonding to their accomplishments and more.
We closed our trip by working our way back to London by way of Bath and Oxford, seeing plenty of sites like the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, Jane Austen Centre, Oxford University, Radcliffe Camera, Bodleian Library, St. Mary's Church, Ashmolean Museum, Windsor Castle, St. George's Chapel which now holds the grave of Elizabeth II, and the National Gallery.
The adventure continued with an exploration of the Tower of London and trips to museums including The Victoria and Albert, Science Museum, and Natural History Museum, and then a Christmas visit to Harrod’s. After a quick dinner, the group headed to the Vaudeville Theatre to enjoy Six the Musical. The following day took the group out to Stonehenge and Salisbury Cathedral with its rare copy of the Magna Carta. We finished the day traveling to Wales for our own Thanksgiving dinner together at a local carvery.
Twenty-three students and five faculty have ventured to England for Thanksgiving Break. The first two days were packed with fun like tea at the British Museum, exploration of Westminster Abbey, views from the London Eye and plenty of guided walking tours of London.
