Students in grades 3-5 were treated to a snow-themed exploratory day by their teachers. The day began with a surprise snowball attack and then the annual snowball fight tournament. The day included several fun, enriching snow-themed activities. The students created unique paper snowflakes during what has become an annual winter activity. Each year, our older students help the younger students with the detailed folds, cuts, and attachments. Another fun part of our snow day was the skier STEM challenge and race. The teams constructed their skiers using aluminum foil and attached craft stick skis, then raced them on an incline. The students also worked on a "Frozen"-themed coding activity using Code.org. The day ended by decorating Oreo snowmen and enjoying the sweet snack.
