Third-graders completed their study of the First Thanksgiving this week with the help of a very special guest! Wills's grandfather, Dr. Bob Hortman ('72), former chairman of Darlington's Board of Trustees, came to the classroom to present some excellent background knowledge on the Pilgrims who celebrated the First Thanksgiving in 1621. He brought along the replica of the Mayflower that he built. He also built a cutaway view so the class could see just how cramped the living quarters were for the Pilgrims. We are very grateful for his visit and knowledge!
