Seventh-grader Olivia Crane won the Thatcher Hall Spelling Bee after 21 rounds of competion. The top two competitors battled it out for fifteen rounds before Crane won the Bee with the word "bamboozled." Wes Knight, seventh grade, placed second.

"I'm so thankful that I had the chance to compete in the Spelling Bee this year," said Crane. "I am looking forward to the next round and would like to thank the judges and my competitors for making this such a great experience."

Both Crane and Knight will advance to the regional spelling bee competition, which will be held virtually this year.
