In this episode, Becca Wood, Director of Events and Engagement in the Advancement Office, chats with Lou Dempsey ('87, LD '17) about his involvement in the Darlington Community as a parent and local business owner, with a special preview of his role in the upcoming Purple Tie Tiger Tailgate live auction.
Becca Wood has served as director of events and engagement for the Advancement Office since 2022. She joined the advancement team in 2015 as administrative assistant and has served as assistant director of alumni relations since 2016. She holds a B.S. in Sports Management from Kennesaw State University.
Lou Dempsey ('87, LD '17) was a six-year day student from Rome. After graduation, he attended Auburn University, where he earned a B.S. in marketing management. He currently serves as the president of Dempsey Auction Co. Over the years, Dempsey has volunteered at Darlington in numerous capacities, serving on the Alumni Council for six years, the Athletic Booster Club and more. He is the parent of two Darlington graduates, Chase ('12) and Georgeanna ('23).
Every member of the Darlington Community has countless Darlington connections, especially in the work world. By supporting each other's careers and life goals, we are better connecting our students, alumni, parents, parents of alumni, and grandparents.
