Eighth-grader Isha Garg won the Thatcher Hall Spelling Bee after 13 rounds of competition by correctly spelling the word "configuration."
Sullivan Anglin, fifth grade, placed second, while Jackson Loy, eighth grade, and Siya Patel, seventh grade, tied for third place.
"I am so thankful for the opportunity to compete in the Spelling Bee," said Garg. "I am very excited for the next round."
Both Garg and Anglin will advance to the regional spelling bee competition, which will be held virtually this year.
