Three Upper School students will be featured in Rome Area Council for the Arts and AdventHealth Redmond's ninth annual HeART Project. The HeART Project's goal is to bring positive awareness to heart health by displaying a variety of artwork showcasing different interpretations of what heart health means.

Seniors Sophie Drake, Mary-Elizabeth Prusakowski and Sarah Tunnell will each have a piece on display in the art installation on the Third Avenue Parking Deck overlooking the Town Green through the month of February. When asked about the inspiration for their pieces, each shared her unique perspective on heart health.

"For my piece, I was inspired by the beauty of the Earth. I envisioned all the beautiful plants we have and how we nurture them to keep them alive and growing," said Drake. "I related this back to health and how we should nurture our bodies and hearts to keep them healthy."

"When I first saw the prompt, plants, a universal symbol of health, immediately came to mind," said Prusakowski. "I wanted to play around while making my piece, so I added some 3D elements in the form of beads."

"I decided on the plan for my painting while playing cards with my mom, and I thought this would be a fun way to emphasize heart health with a regular object like a deck of cards," said Tunnell.

Community members can view the pieces throughout the month of February and are invited to participate in a drive-thru reception for the opening of the installation on Feb. 1. Pieces will be available for purchase at $50 each, with proceeds benefiting RACA.
