Because one of the most important aspects of history is communication and collaboration, we see that revolutionary inventions are most quickly established and improved upon when we have free flowing thought among civilizations.
For different reasons, the students' project topics—which include the abacus, toothpaste, a catapult, the fork, a lighthouse, paper money, the rudder, and many more—all changed the world that we live in, and most for the better.
As we finish up Ancient World History we discuss how by the 1400s, the world is more and more a place of interconnectedness, and how a discovery or innovation anywhere can affect the world over.
