Darlington students are invited to spend the first days of summer 2015 in Lille, France, on a trip sponsored by the European Center for Leadership and Entrepreneurial Education as part of a partnership between Darlington School's Global Studies Program and Huntingdon College.
Led by Huntingdon's Dr. Samir Moussalli and Darlington French and Global Issues teacher Eric Braun, the trip to Lille will depart June 6 and return June 14. Side trips to Paris and Brussels will also be included.
"Designed for rising juniors and seniors, this trip is one option that would fulfill the Global Studies Program's international travel requirement," Braun explained. "However, you do not necessarily have to be enrolled in the Global Studies Program to go on the trip."
Participants will complete BADM 200 -- Introduction to Business (with an international perspective) in conjunction with the trip. The course will be taught by Moussalli, dean of Huntingdon College's Samford School of Business. Upon the successful completion of all required coursework, participants will be awarded three credit hours from Huntingdon College. In addition, students who successfully complete the course and trip will be offered a half-tuition scholarship from Huntingdon College should they choose to attend the school.
"BADM 200 is a survey course that introduces students to today's challenging business environment through an exposure to the various disciplines within business," Moussalli said. "The course will take place over a five-week period. It will consist of various online work that students will have to complete on a weekly basis and an international business project that will be due at the end of the term. During the trip, students will visit various cultural sites, corporations and government offices."
