Tiger Expert Senior Interview: Rian Phillips

Rian Phillips is senior resident student from Anchorage, Alaska. He has attended Darlington for two years, and is academic prefect of Moser House.

What is a fun fact about yourself?

I currently have an encyclopedia on battle ships in my backpack. I carry it around during the school day and often read it when I'm bored.

What advice do you have for the junior class as they make the transition into senior year?

Remember to manage your time well and keep up with what you have to do. Personally, senior year went by in the blink of an eye. In a few months, I'll be walking across that stage in front of all my friends and family. I'm thinking about it now, and I'm wondering where did the time go?

What do you love most about Darlington?

I love the fact that it is such a welcoming community. I'm a long way from home, but Darlington is my home away from home. I've developed connections with people from all around the world that I will keep for a lifetime.

What's your favorite part about being part of the Darlington School Soccer Academy?

My favorite part of the Darlington School Soccer Academy is the environment it provides for me to constantly challenge myself every day to become better as a soccer player and as an individual. We are fortunate to have state-of-the-art facilities and quality coaches who only want the best for us. We travel to many different states and play in very competitive tournaments.

Where do you see yourself in ten years?

I hope to be managing and helping with Petroleum Engineering in Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico.
